The College provides information technology resources to support its mission (teaching, learning, and student success). Usage should be primarily educational in nature in support of this mission. Kapiʻolani Community College students, faculty, staff, and other affiliated UH users have priority for accessing electronic resources and using library computer equipment.
Logging on to a computer
- Log in at any open computer with your UH Username and Password. For your security, log out when you are finished.
- Non-UH-affiliated users may utilize the designated Public PC workstations.
- See a librarian for assistance.

Support and UH Policy on Acceptable Use of Computer and Information Resources (EP2.210)
- If you require assistance, please go to the Reference Desk and ask a librarian for help.
- Software is updated as often as possible. For specialized software needs, check with your instructor for computer resources that may be available through your academic program.
- For security reasons, students are not allowed to install additional software on library computers.
- Legal DVD and CD burning is permitted, but the library does not provide software, media, or support to students or faculty for these activities.
The Library is committed to serving all members of the UH community fairly and equitably through its policies. Violating duly established policies or laws will result in being denied access to these resources. Users found to have vandalized, altered, or damaged a computer, its programs, or data, are in violation of Hawaiʻi State Law and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the Law.
All users must abide by the University of Hawaiʻi Policy on Acceptable Use of University Computer and Information Resources (E2.210) In particular:
- Display of sexually explicit images or sounds where others can see or hear them may create a hostile environment and could constitute sexual harassment.
- University servers and networks may not be used to house or distribute unauthorized software, music, video or other information resources.
