Borrow Laptop Computers

Borrow Laptops
Kapiʻolani CC students, staff, and faculty may borrow laptops for 1 day or 7 days.

Bring your UH photo ID to borrow a laptop. There is no charge for borrowing a laptop. You are responsible for late return fines, damage, or loss. Laptops may not be reserved in advance.

If you violate the laptop lending policy, alter or damage a laptop, you are in violation of Hawaiʻi State Law and will be prosecuted. View a copy of the UH Executive Policy, EP2.210, Use and Management of Information Technology Resources.

User Policy

  1. Return the laptop at the Circulation Desk, not in the after-hours slot as it may get damaged.
  2. NEVER leave the laptop unattended for any reason. If you must leave your desk, take the laptop and the AC adaptor with you. Thefts do happen in the Library. You are responsible for the laptop damage or replacement fees.
  3. You can print from the library laptop to the library print station.
  4. Laptops may not be reserved in advance. The Library has more than 40 laptops so there are usually some available for loan.
  5. Return the laptop 15 minutes before the library closes on the day of the loan. Late returns are fined $1.00 per hour.
  6. If you have any problems with the laptop, return it to the Circulation Counter. Do not make repairs on your own.
  7. Display of sexually explicit images or sounds where others can see or hear them may create a hostile environment and could consitute sexual harassment according to University of Hawaiʻi Policy E2.210.
