*** IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ***

If you are a student applying for entry into a specific program offered at Kapiʻolani CC:
The following programs REQUIRE the ACCUPLACER test, not EdReady.

  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Dental Assisting (DENT)
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • Medical Assisting (MEDA)
  • Adult Residential Care Home Operator (ARCH)
  • Nurse Aide
  • Phlebotomy
  • Pharmacy Technician

Kapiʻolani Community College is also using EdReady College Readiness scores to help students determine their starting course for English and Math. After you complete the initial diagnostic test, you can use your score to register for classes. You can also keep working on your learning path to improve your score. When you hit a score milestone, you'll get an e-mail letting you know the next math or English course you have qualified for.

You only need to register once. The EdReady username and password you set up will give you access to both College English and Math Placement programs.

The EdReady diagnostic test can be taken from home and it does not need a proctor

  • Math Path 1: Non-STEM/College Math Placement

Students who take Math Path 1 will place into one of these courses: MATH 100 / 78, MATH 115 / 78, MATH 100, MATH 111, or MATH 115.

  • Math Path 2: STEM/Algebra Placement
For students seeking to place into MATH 103.  College Algebra is typically required for Science, Engineering, Business, and some allied health programs.

  • Math Path 3: STEM/Calculus Placement

Students who take Math Path 3 will place into one of these courses: MATH 135, BUS 250, MATH 140, or MATH 241.
