Paralegal Program Library Resources: Course Reserves

What Are Course Reserves?

Many instructors put textbooks or other course materials "on reserve" in the library to ensure all students have access to required items. Course reserves are held behind the Circulation Desk and can typically be borrowed for either 2 hours or up to 7 days.

Required course materials may also be available in ebook format, which can be accessed for free online but may still have time limits or user number restrictions.

Textbook and other print materials available in course reserves are held behind the Circulation Desk, which is located near the entrance of the library, and can be requested from staff working at the desk or at Reference. These books can typically be borrowed for either 2 hours, or up to 7 days. You are also welcome to scan them for free on our scanner.

Request Scanning Services

If you can't come into the library, you can also request up to 10% or 1 chapter per course reserve item by following the instructions at the link below.

Accessing Ebook Textbooks

Ebook textbooks available in course reserves are typically available for a limited number of hours at a time with 1 to 5 concurrent users able to access the ebook at one time. That means that you might not be able to access the textbook if others are already using it, but you'll be able to read it as soon as the other user is done, or their time limit has expired.
