Login Info: How to Login from Off-Campus

How do I login?

If you are off-campus (at home or any other computer away from Kapiʻolani CC), you will be asked to login to use some resources. You only need to login once per browser session. The login looks like this:

login screen

Type your UH Username and Password (same as your UH Gmail or MyUHPortal), then hit Enter or click the Login button.

Why do I have to login?

Login is required to use library databases from off-campus.

Some resources are free, but the library pays for subscriptions to the majority of our databases. Our contracts with the database providers say that we must restrict access to Kapiʻolani CC users only. If you are not currently affiliated with Kapiʻolani CC, you can use resources at one of the public computers in the library, or you may want to check out databases provided through the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System.

I can't login!

If you can't login at the UH Web Login Service, use the "Forgot my password" link on that page.

If you successfully logged in to the UH Web Login Service but were given an error instead of the database you wanted, there are a few possible reasons:

  1. Our system does not show you are currently enrolled or working at Kapiʻolani CC. If you are, register online or at the Circulation Counter in the library. It takes a few working days to process registrations.
  2. You have library fines over $10. Fines can be paid at the Circulation Counter in the library.
  3. Try a different computer. If it works, there is some setting on the first computer preventing you from logging in. Clear your browser's cache, disable Form AutoFill, disable proxy settings. Or, switch to a different browser like FirefoxChrome, or Safari.
  4. Contact us. Provide as much detail as possible so we can help troubleshoot your problem: the exact error message you received, etc.

You can also Logout from all UH Web Login Services.
